The Jaguar Way is the way that we teach our students to be SAFE, RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, and CARING while at Valley View. It is out hope that these character traits will continue outside of school as well. Here are a few ideas to use positive behavior supports at home. Do This.............. Not That Teach the Desired Behavior Be Specific Praise Good Behavior Try a Rewards System Below are some additional resources that can help you to encourage HERO behavior at home.Morning Routine Cool Tool - Use this plan to help your child get ready for school in the morning using the Jaguar Way. Bedtime Cool Tool - Use this plan to help get your child to bed at night using the Jaguar Way. Homework Completion Cool Tool - Use this plan to help your child complete homework using the Jaguar Way. 10 Ways for Parents to Help Their Children Be Successful - This list contains ten simple things we can all do to help our children be their best while at school or anywhere! Home HERO Tickets - These tickets can be used at home to encourage safe, respectful, responsible, and caring behavior. While these tickets can't be redeemed at school, parents are encouraged to set up a system for rewarding children when they earn tickets! Paw Pride Form - We encourage all students to complete one of these forms whenever they do something outside of school that shows them being a HERO. Students should return this form to their teacher and it will be posted on the PAW PRIDE bulletin board in the cafeteria. Don't forget- students must complete one of these forms prior to being admitted into the Jaguar Team. |
